Lagos-based spiritual leader, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, has made a prediction that fuel prices in Nigeria are poised to decrease. Primate Ayodele foresees a scenario where Nigerian citizens will soon be able to purchase petrol at a more reasonable cost, ushering in a sense of joy. This prediction comes in the wake of the federal government's decision to increase petrol prices on two occasions during the current administration's tenure.
Primate Elijah Ayodele, who serves as the head of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has made a bold projection concerning the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petroleum. He anticipates a significant drop in the current price of N617 per liter to N180. In a recent video statement, Ayodele encouraged Nigerians to maintain a sense of optimism.
Ayodele attributes this forecast to what he perceives as competition within the pricing structure of PMS. Notably, President Bola Tinubu, upon assuming office, oversaw consecutive increases in fuel prices, initially from N165 to N530 and subsequently to over N600. These price hikes have had a notable impact on the nation's economic activities.
Speaking about the future of petrol prices, Ayodele conveyed, "I foresee a reduction in petrol prices. Nigerians should exercise patience, as petrol prices are expected to decrease, likely reaching around N180 per liter. This transformation may take a few months but not an extended period. I believe within a few months, the companies licensed by the government for petroleum importation will contribute to driving down prices. Thus, let us remain optimistic about the future of petroleum pricing."
